Global T20 league : Draft and people reaction.


The T20 global league is a twenty twenty cricket tournament by cricket South Africa and to be held in South Africa.The tournament features 8 privately owned teams,the tournament will start in November and the final is to be played on 16 December 2017.

DRAFT :


The T20 Global league mini-draft took place on Saturday, where each of the franchises assigned the players (cricketers) to play for their respective franchise.

A Draft Matrix was provided to all the teams on August 21 so the team have enough time to prepare a plan for the selection of players. Each Team was allowed up to two minutes to pick their player in each round.Total rounds were 16.

Kieron Pollard was the first player to be picked in the draft by the Bloem City Blazers. Power hitter Kevin Peterson was selected by Nelson Mandela Bay Stars, while the king of batting powerhouse of T20 cricket Chris Gayle went to the Cape Town Knight Riders franchise.

Given below are the updated squads of all the eight franchises after the mini draft.
Bloem City Blazers: David Miller, Kieron Pollard
Joburg Giants: Kagiso Rabada, Brendon McCullum.
Cape Town Knight Riders: JP Duminy, Chris Gayle
Durban Qalanaders: Hashim Amla, Eoin Morgan
Pretoria Mavericks: AB de Villiers, Dwayne Bravo
Nelson Mandela Bay Stars: Imran Tahir, Kevin Pietersen
Benoni Zalmi: Quinton de Kock, Jason Roy
Stellenbosch Monarchs: Faf du Plessis, Lasith Malinga
